'Lunch Time' is set to screen at A Retrospective of Iranian Short Films event held at Concordia University in US.
Directed by Alireza Qasemi, 'Lunch Time' is a 15-minute short film that is about a high school girl who has come to hospital to identify the body of her mother.
The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.
The flick has attended several international film festivals, including the 15th London Short Film Festival in the UK and the 26th Saint Louis International Film Festival in the US.
'Lunch Time' has been nominated for a Palm d'Or at the 70th Cannes Film Festival in France.
Alireza Qasemi's film has, so far, received several awards from the Student International Film Festival in Croatia, The 2017 James River Short Films competition in the US, only to name a few.
The teenage character of the flick has been beautifully brought to life by Khorshid Cheraqipour.
The actress has won the Best Actress award at the 13th edition of Huntington Beach Film Festival in the US.
A Retrospective of Iranian Short Films is a student-run event under the supervision of Department of Studio Arts at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. It will showcase a selection of exemplary Iranian short films produced in recent years.
A Retrospective of Iranian Short Films is slated for April 14-15, 2018.
